Here's a list of some popular tours for families and adults for both the newbie and well traveled.

Duck Tour Tours

Tours run between 55 - 80 minutes long and range between $10 for children and $32 for adults.  Student discounts are available as well as combination ticket discounts if you purchase tickets to other museums.


Boston Chocolate Tour

Yes, believe it or not there is a chocolate tour in Boston.  Tour prices range from $25 to $48 depending upon location.


Fenway Park Tour

Boston Red Sox Pink HatWhy not tour the home of the Boston Red Sox?  This is a 50 minute historical tour through Fenway Park  where some of the most famous names in baseball has played such as Babe Ruth and Carl Yastrzemski.  Tickets cost between $10 and $12 and tours are run on the hour.

Old Town Trolley Tour

If you're new to the city, this is one of the best ways of getting around town.  Old Town Trolley Tour offers you a variety of convenient on and off stops to get you around all the touristic and historic areas of the city.  Prices range from $15 to $38 if you buy your tickets online here.  Tickets sometimes include free harbor cruises, a free museum pass and a free trolley ticket for the next day.  They also run what is called the Ghosts and Gravestones tour at night.

A unique trolley tour in Boston.  Tickets range from $22 to $35 if you buy them online.  

Skywalk Observatory at the Prudential Building

This is a self guided tour at Boston's 2nd tallest building, the Prudential Center.  Tickets range from $9 to $13.  This is a great way to see the entire city from above!  Its also centrally located and its a quick stop along your day.  

The Freedom Trail

The Freedom Trail: Boston: A Guided Tour through History (Timeline)If you'd like to see Boston at your leisure by foot you can always follow along the Freedom Trail.  If you were wondering what the "red lines" are on some of the sidewalks that weave its way throughout the city, you're on the Freedom Trail path.  The Freedom Trail brings you around to many of the famous sites in town such as the Boston Common, State House, Old South Meeting House, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere's House, Old North Church, Bunker Hill, the USS Constitution and more.  Private tours are also available with a guide. The Black Heritage Trail

The Black Heritage Trail is also a self guided tour similar to The Freedom Trail.  It consists of 14 sites that explores the history of the Black community in Boston who faced great opposition and fought the forces of slavery and inequality during its time.  Guided tours are also available.
